SMOKE CURTAINS


How do they work?

Smoke curtains also known as smoke baffles or fire curtains is a substantial, noncombustible curtain that is hung tightly against a ceiling. Smoke baffles cordon off sections of a large ceiling for fire prevention purposes.

A smoke baffle acts as a partition of heat and smoke in the event of a fire and help with the controlling, reducing and repeatedly will prevent the spread of smoke throughout the affected building.

Some of the benefits of these curtains are:

  • They are made out of non-flammable materials

  • Smoke proof and temperature resistant

  • Made of a lightweight and compact construction

  • Cause no obstruction in passages during evacuation

  • Easily integrate into the building design

  • Aesthetically, it’s a neutral solution. (Invisible to the eye)

  • Prevent flash-over when used with smoke/heat release vents.
